Genoa, Nev. — Both the schools and county will be open today, after the storm associated with an atmospheric river blew through without doing much additional damage.


With the winds on Tuesday there were four calls for wires down or some other electrical issue. The peak gust at Minden-Tahoe Airport was 56 mph. Centerville saw a few gusts in the 50s and some sustained 40 mph gusts..


Tahoe-Douglas firefighters responded to a report of a mobile home crushed under the snow load at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday. Lake Tahoe had a couple of gas leaks, too. Remember to clear snow away from the meters.


Gov. Joe Lombardo’s Chief of Staff Ben Kieckhefer was the speaker at the joint Chamber of Commerce, Business Council of Douglas County membership meeting today. You have to be a member of one of the organizations to attend.


The Nevada Highway Patrol is reporting a noninjury collision on Highway 395 right around 6 a.m. today south of Pine Valley Road. It will likely clear soon but watch for emergency vehicles.


As I peek around the corner at the forecast, it seems fairly safe to report this morning. Expect sunny skies with the wind out of the west at 5-10 mph, shifting north later this morning. Looking out this morning, that seems fairly likely.
