NV Energy trucks swarm County Road for a power outage in Minden on Tuesday afternoon.

Genoa, Nev. — All the NV Energy trucks turned out to County Road on Tuesday for an outage around 3:40 p.m. that affected the high school and The R-C. That came about an hour after a resident reported arcing power lines near Carval Court.


It sounds like the Douglas County School District is proposing to stop sending out report cards. That doesn’t mean students aren’t being graded. Parents can log in and find out their students’ grades without having to wait until the end of the quarter.


While discussing parking issues, Douglas County Planning Commissioners voted 6-0 to approve a modification at Tahoe Beach Club. Apparently there are issues with the water table on that property, seeing as it is right next to a really big lake, and all.


A single appeal will go before the Douglas County Board of Equalization today for Baker Hughes’ Bently Nevada building. The meeting is 10 a.m. at the historic Douglas County Courthouse. It doesn’t look like it will be online.


Clerk-Treasurer Amy Burgans was scheduled to speak as part of an overview of county election administration and I was ready to listen, and then the lights went out.


It wasn’t quite as frosty out as anticipated this morning at 21 degrees. Temperatures are supposed to be chilly today with a forecast high of 32 degrees and a low on Thursday morning of 7, but those have trended warmer.
