Genoa, Nev. — Staff is recommending that Regional Transportation Commissioners reject a $16.8 million bid on Muller Lane Parkway submitted by Ames Construction. The Regional Transportation Commission meets 1 p.m. today at the Douglas County Courthouse.


Commissioners agreed to waive Community Development permit fees for residents who suffered damage in the March weather, including those with damage to their homes. That could cost the county around $25,000.


Markleeville resident Wilmer Trivett’s body was found where it was buried allegedly by a Baja couple in Mexico after he was killed over a traffic collision, according to the Mexican government. He’d been missing since his camper was found burned on Feb. 23, according to news accounts.


I got word on Thursday that the Carson Valley Active 20-30 Club’s Easter Egg Hunt is noon, not 10 a.m. as reported on Wednesday. Thank former hunt participant Sarah Drinkwine for catching that. “We always had to wait until after church to go,” she said.


It’s snowing lightly up on Kingsbury this morning, but not so it would cause road conditions. Traffic seems to be traveling normally.


We might see a little rain on this Good Friday with the snow level staying up around 6,600 feet. The high temperatures today is supposed to hit 54 degrees. The southwest wind is forecast to hit 10-15 mph gusting to 25 mph.
