Genoa, Nev. — A power surge zapped the detection system for the traffic light at Highway 395 and Riverview. A new system is on order, but it’s been a project getting it here. That’s a pretty dangerous intersection in the best of times, so it might be good to avoid it if you can until everything’s fixed.


Engineering to add a dog park to the South Sunridge Park is on the Indian Hills General Improvement District trustees’ agenda 6 p.m. today at the district meeting room at James Lee Park.


The first Wednesday of the month is a very popular evening to hold meetings, with both Genoa and Minden town boards gathering at 5:30 p.m. today to talk budgets. Genoans meet in the Town Hall while Minden meets at the CVIC Hall.


Also working on the budget are trustees of the Gardnerville Ranchos General Improvement District who meet at 5 p.m. at the district office on Mitch.

A contract for this spring’s Heritage Park Farmer’s Market was approved by the Gardnerville Town Board on Tuesday. The market will shift to the other side of Gilman Avenue from the pavilion while it builds momentum.


Expect mostly sunny skies with a high temperature around 48 degrees today with a light west breeze out of the northwest at 5 mph. Thursday is forecast to see a temperature of 58 degrees.
