Genoa, Nev. — Polls open at 7 a.m. today at four community centers in Gardnerville, Stateline, Dresslerville and Topaz Ranch Estates for in-person voting. Bring your mailed ballot to be destroyed if you’re voting in person or maybe fill it out and drop it off at the courthouse. Polls close at 7 p.m.

If I haven’t been clear, the paper is heading to Tracy to print before noon today, which means Wednesday’s edition will have Carson Valley Days Parade results, but not election results.

I’ll be up tracking what I can tonight, but with as many paper ballots as there are, any close races will be unlikely to be settled. We’ll all be watching the results tonight.

The Pony Express Re-Rider is northwest of Eureka this morning. The tracker went offline for a couple of hours this morning but it’s back at nationalponyexpress.org/re-ride/follow-the-ride/

It’s Flag Day and the U.S. Army’s 247th birthday. The Nevada National Guard will be hosting a ceremony 10 a.m. today at the Capitol Grounds in Carson City.

It’s going to be a fairly typical June day today with the high temperature around 80 degrees under sunny skies. The zephyr will pick up out of the west at 10-15 mph this afternoon.
