Genoa, Nev. — It might be a good idea to wait until the plows get out if you’re headed over Kingsbury or Spooner this morning. First responders are out at a vehicle collision near the top on the Lake side, so watch out for emergency vehicles.

There’s a little bit of snow falling in Genoa this morning, but the real storm looks like it’s heading into the Pine Nuts. Traffic on Highway 395 south of Gardnerville appears to be moving as smoothly as can be expected.

Snow remains in the forecast until 10 a.m. under cloudy skies that will be clearing gradually. It’s going to by far colder today than it has over the last few weeks, with the high barely cracking 40 degrees. Expect the wind out of the north at 15 mph gusting to 25 mph.

Douglas County School Board trustees will discuss spending $636,000 for work on the Jacks Valley Elementary School HVAC system. Low bidder on the project was ACCO Engineered Services, according to the district. Trustees will also discuss a $110,000 engineering design contract for the Douglas High rooftop unit. Trustees meet 4 p.m. today in the Douglas High School Media Center.

I’ll be working this morning on our first Wednesday edition, so don’t be surprised when the paper ends up on your doorstep in the morning, depending on what happens with the storm tonight.
