INTRODUCED the

following ordinance:

ORDINANCE:

2021-1582

TITLE: An ordinance

repealing the existing

text of Chapter 20.622

of the Douglas County

Code related to

Vacation Home Rentals

within the Tahoe

Township and adopting

new text.

SUMMARY: An

ordinance repealing the

existing text of Chapter

20.622 of the Douglas

County Code relative

to Vacation Home

Rentals in the Tahoe

Township and replacing

it with the new text.

The process for these

changes began in 2018

and have culminated

with the proposed

revisions. The new

additions include,

but are not limited to,

creating a tiered permit

structure, limiting the

total number of permits

in the Tahoe Township

to 600, limiting density

and the types of units,

requiring training for

local contact persons,

strengthening permit

requirements, creating

a VHR Advisory Board,

and substantially

increasing the penalties

for violations of the

code and revising

the enforcement and

appeals process.

The 2nd Reading of

this Ordinance will be

held on 6/3/2021
