Granados, Britt stay fast

Ben Granados won the 100 meter race at the Big George Track Invitational on Saturday at Douglas High School.

Granados ran a 11.17 a season best. He also was second in the 400 meters with a 51.34, a personal record. Misael Becerra was 6th in the 100 (11.65) and 200 (23.51) and 9th in the 400 (53.05). Kai Miller was 9th in the pole vault (10 feet).

For the Carson girls, Ashley Britt was the 100 hurdles in 16.09. Merce Tarrayo was second in the shot put (34-11.5) and third in discus (112-06), Taryn Encinas was third in the 100 meters (13.29) and third in the 200 (27.72), both personal bests. She also was 5th in the high jump (4-10).

Sierra Lutheran’s Jared Marchegger won the 1600 meters in 4:30.38. Teegan Hansen was third in the 1600 at 4:37.68. Emily McNeely was 5th in the 800 (2:36.40) and 6th in the 1600 (5:47.15). Mikayla Talkington was 9th in the discus (82-10) and 6th in shot put (29-11). Sophia Choat was 9th in the pole vault (5-feet 6-inches). The Falcons girls relay team of Taylor Davison, Sierra Carranza, Rosalie Antonucci and McNeely was 5th in 4x400 (5:05.70).

Dayton’s 4x100 team of Zane Weston, Seth Anderson, Isaac Guadarrama and Moritz Rau were 8th (47.84). Shawn Reul was 7th in the discus (123-03). Peter Miklich was 9th in the pole vault at 10 feet. Kamailelua’Ole’Onalani Conner was 8th in the 300 hurdles for the Dayton girls (55.69). The 4x200 relay team of Hannah Coltrin, Ainsley Lau, Zolet Miklich and Faith Reid finished 6th in 1:57.40. The 4x400 relay team of Sophia Azevedo, Reid, Miklich and Faith DePasquale was 6th in 5:19.09. Katelyn Howerton was 5th in the discus (94-03). Eden Evans was 8th in the pole vault (6-feet) and 8th in the long jump (13-11.50). SHe also was 7th in the triple jump at 30-08.50. Ainsley Lau was 7th (13-11.50) in the long jump.

Carson baseball drops game

The Bishop Manogue Miners got a walk-off win against the Carson High baseball team on Saturday.

Max Fontaine took the loss in relief for the Senators. He pitched three innings allowing six hits and two runs.

Vernon Painter went the first 5.1 innings giving up seven hits and two runs, one earned for the Senators.

Carson scored three runs in the 5th inning to take a 3-0 lead. The Miners scored in the 5th, 6th and 7th innings to tie the game.

Delsin Roberts had two hits and 3 RBI for the Senators. Casey Martensen also had two hits for the Senators. Kobe Morgan, Kahle Goode and Garritt Benavidez each added a hit.

Dayton softball drops two

The Dayton softball team dropped two games on Friday at Fernley.

In the opening game, Fernley scored three runs in the 8th inning to claim a 5-4 victory. The Dust Devils knocked out six hits with Tamia Powell collecting two and two RBI for Dayton. Elizabeth Vincent had a hit and two RBI. Caleigh Onstott, Marissa Hein and Julie Rogacs all had hits.

Onstott took the loss giving up two earned runs on five hits.

In game 2, Fernley took a 6-3 decision.

Dayton had seven hits with Amanda Woitas, Vincent and Powell each collecting two hits. Woitas (2) and Vincent had RBIs.

Woitas took the loss giving up nine hits and six runs, three earned.
