Free live music Saturday at Seventh-day Adventist Church

Live music by the internationally acclaimed King’s Heralds Quartet will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at Carson City Seventh-day Adventist Church, 405 College Parkway.

Everyone is welcome to attend the free performance.

Additionally, the church holds weekly services on Saturday.

Sabbath School, a Bible study group, at 9:30 a.m. is followed by a worship service at 10:45 a.m.

A bilingual service in Spanish and English is offered at 4 p.m.

Trivanovich, Patillo in First Christian concert Saturday

Carson City’s First Christian Church will host a concert featuring two prominent artists in Cary Trivanovich and Leon Patillo.

Trivanovich is considered one of the world’s leading pantomime comedians while Patillo is the former lead singer of Santana. The concert will be held from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, 2211 Muton. The concert is free and open to the public

Trivanovich is also known for his work in anti-bullying as he also performs at public schools and Boys and Girls Clubs.

He will perform from 6 to 7 p.m.

Following a brief intermission and snacks, Patillo will then perform.

Haskins said the concert will be kid-friendly, but will also be for all ages.

“They have a real knack for reaching kids,” said Haskins about Trivanovich and Patillo.

First Baptist offering Kidz Kamp

First Baptist Church of Carson City, 1750 Mountain St., will host its annual Kidz Kamp “Galactic Starveyors” from June 5 through 9. The camp for ages 4-12 will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon daily.

Kids will discover the invisible wonders of God and that God wants a personal relationship with them. The camp will include music, crafts, missions, games and snacks. The camp is free.

Dayton church holding service events June 11

CenterPoint Christian Fellowship in Dayton is gearing up for a day of service June 11.

Activities include a cleanup of the Carson River and food collection for three food pantries in Dayton.

Volunteers will be collecting food from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at four Dayton locations — Smith’s, Dollar General, Family Dollar and the corner of Dayton Valley Road and Breakwater Drive.

Spiritual Summit planned in South Lake Tahoe

First Church of Christ, Scientist is holding its third annual Spiritual Summit from 1 to 4 p.m. May 27 at the Tahoe Beach Retreat Convention Center, across from Safeway in South Lake Tahoe.

The goal for the event is to share about getting beyond life’s challenges through presentations based on Christian teachings.

The theme of this year’s summit is “Spiritual Solutions to Life’s Challenges.”

Three guest speakers from the Christian Science Board of Lectureship will be on hand — Mark McCurties of Boston; Fujiko Signs of Tokyo; and Chet Manchester of King Ferry, N.Y.

A question and answer session will follow.

Organizers are requesting RSVPs at TalksThatInspire.org to plan for food, seating and parking accommodations.

Also, those who can’t attend in person can watch the presentations livestreamed on the website.

Christian singer to make local stop

A singer whose song, “More Beautiful You,” made it on the American Christian music charts is visiting Carson City.

Tickets are available for Jonny Diaz’s performance at 7 p.m. June 10 at Sierra Lutheran High School, 3601 Romans Road.

The event, sponsored by Hilltop Community Church, also offers a pre-show meet and greet with Diaz at 5:30 p.m.
