Carson High swim teams pick up wins

Carson High’s swim teams recorded league wins over Wooster and Damonte Ranch over the weekend.

The boys beat Wooster 177-81 and Damonte 181-25, and the girls beat Wooster 212-76 and Damonte 211-32.

Nicole Van Geel won the 50 free (26.45) and the 200 (2:06.76), and she had a relay win and a second-place relay finish. Christy Krahn won the 100 breast (1:17.91) and 200 medley (2:31.45) and she also had a relay win. America Brena Gutierrez won the 100 butterfly (1:14.09) and 500 free (5:50.98). Karina Novoa won the 100 free (1:04.11) and Blanca Sosa won the 100 back (1:10.62).

On the boys side, Brett Kolb won the 200 free (1:50.48) and the 500 free (5:07.01). Reece Canfield won the 100 butterfly (56.95), Bryan Remick took the 100 free (54.79), Robert Bush captured the 50 fre (27.62) and Alexander Gutierrez took he 100 back in 1:00.65.

Kolb, Canfield and Remick swam on two winning relay teams apiece.
