The Carson City School District announced its employees of the year at the annual awards meeting Tuesday.

Tedra “Teddy” Cook, a seventh grade teacher at Carson Middle School, won the district’s 2017 Educator of the Year award and Bridget Gordon, the 21st Century Solutions Program coordinator at Carson High School, won the 2017 Classified Employee of the Year.

The district honored the two employees and others at a special ceremony Tuesday in lieu of the regular school board meeting.

“Our district is full of bright and caring individuals who have extraordinary skills and are full of passion,” said Superintendent Richard Stokes. “The staff members who were honored are amazing in their own right and represent a larger group at every school who teach, guide and support our students.”

The district handed out awards for the Educator of the Year from each school site as well.

“How fortunate to have them as members of our team,” Stokes said.
