Swallows: These birds returned to Carson and vicinity one week ago last Sunday. A farmer whose premises are much frequented by them informs us they usually make their appearance here the second week in April. They are said to never vary much in time of their return or departure.

Mrs. Dorothy Collins of Ely, wife of Joseph L. Collins, hotel manager and owner of that city, has been selected as the Nevada State Mother for 1947. She is considered one of the most outstanding mothers of that community and will represent Nevada at the national contest.

A woman whose badly decomposed body was found Sunday on a mountainside off U.S. Highway 50 west about four miles from Carson City died from unnatural causes, District Attorney Robert List said today.
