Carson City’s Luke Bowler collecting used bicycles for Eagle Scout project

Carson City’s Luke Bowler of Boy Scout Venture Crew 64 will be collecting used bicycles and bicycle parts as part of his Eagle Scout project. Bowler will be collecting tax-deductible donations from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sundays, Sept. 25 and Oct. 2, at the north Carson City Walmart. The scout is partnering with Mike’s Bikes in California to ship the bikes to Africa, where a bicycle can make a difference between living in poverty versus receiving health care, getting an education, or realizing employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
