The Popcorn Stand: Blue Line Trail postcards available

One of Carson City’s most popular — and maybe not as well known — attractions is its Kit Carson Blue Line Trail. The blue line runs through the city’s West Side Historic District and provides 2.5 miles of leisurely walking.

The entire West Side Historic District was placed on the National Park Service National Register of Historic Places in 2011. In all, Carson City has 44 sites that have been listed on the National Register.

The trail begins at the National State Museum. It features numerous historic buildings and homes — many of which were built in the mid-1800s. And who knows when you walk the trail might run into a ghost or two.

Now the Carson City Chamber of Commerce is selling postcards displaying a map of the Blue Line Trail designed by Deb Ottinger. The postcards are available at the Chamber office, 1900 S. Carson Street.

So if you want to send somebody a postcard representative of Carson City (do people still do that?) or just have a keepsake of our community, pick up the Blue Line postcard.
