Albert Eugene “Willie” Willis

July 20, 1923 – August 1, 2016



Albert Eugene Willis was born on July 20, 1923 in Kansas City, Missouri to his parents Grover Cleveland and Esther Pansy Willis.


Willie and his wife, Fern, lived in many cities in Nebraska, Colorado and Nevada but finally settled in Myrtle Creek, Oregon in August of 1988.


Willie spent his last 7½ months at Rose Haven Nursing home in Roseburg, Oregon where Fern had been a resident prior to her death in 2012.


Willie was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Fern; his siblings, Denzil, Edith, Leslie, Lloyd, and Nathan. His brother Don lost touch with the family and so it is not known if he is still alive or not.


He is survived by his sister, Ann Gipple of Whittier, California; daughters, Connie Butts of Sneads, Florida, Gloria Shelton and her husband Ed of Loyalton, California and Linda Taylor and husband Gary of Myrtle Creek, Oregon; 21

grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Willie will be missed by all.


Willie’s going home service will be Monday, August 8th, at 10:30 a.m. in the Walton’s Sierra Chapel, 875 W. Second St., Reno. The service will be preceded by a viewing time from 9:00 to 10:30 a.m.


Final resting will be at Mt. View Cemetery in Reno, NV.
