Greetings, church of Carson City! We, the Carson City Christian Ministerial Fellowship, were astounded by the huge turnout at the Decision America event this past month! Thank you so much for making such a strong showing for our city.

We’re looking forward to the National Day of Prayer on May 5 at 11 a.m. at the Capitol steps. We’re excited this year as we do what Franklin Graham encouraged us to do at Decision America, get involved and pray.

The National theme for this year’s National Day of Prayer is “Wake Up America” “Shout it aloud, do not hold back. Raise your voice like a trumpet,” (Isaiah 58:1, New International Version).

We’ve been in the throes of planning, and Congressman Mark Amodei has graciously coordinated his schedule to come to the event and is going to share a word with us.

There are a handful of churches in the community who are going to be involved in this event with different civil servants from several branches of government reading proclamations and pastors from many churches bringing a word of prayer.

The event will conclude at 11:50 a.m. in order to give us time to head over to the Amphitheater next door for the Annual Nevada Law Enforcement Officers Memorial ceremony where the officers who have fallen this past year and previous years are honored, prayed for, and remembered.

In closing, the Scripture we’re fulfilling in all these gatherings is, “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” (Psalm 133:1, New King James Version).

Blessings to each of you from Calvary Chapel Carson City.

Pat Propster is the pastor of Calvary Chapel of Carson City.
