Faith & Insight: Keep spirit of Easter alive all year round

Well, the Easter Bunny has left. Actually, my granddaughter found two undiscovered eggs he had left last year! This year’s candy has been eaten, and the baskets are put back into the shed.

Don’t let Easter be over! The spirit of that day needs to continue on a daily basis throughout the year. The spirit of Easter isn’t the dressing up, fancy food, and hunting eggs. It’s the accent on life instead of death, light instead of dark, joy instead of gloom, and peace instead of turmoil.

The spirit of the world is so often contrary to the spirit of Easter. One by one, we can change that. Little by little, deed by deed, smile by smile, and prayer by prayer; we can live the spirit of Easter — the spirit of new life.

Therefore we have been buried with him through baptism into death, so that as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life (Romans 6:4).
