150 Years Ago

Nearly broke his neck. A “Constitutional Democrat” returning from Carson in a buggy almost broke his neck in front of the Gold Hill Exchange. His head was swelled by reasons of numerous potation of Democratic whiskey. He attempted to get out of his buggy and the laws of gravitation took his head toward the earth, and he came down upon the gravel stones with his bald pate. Being full of whisky, he was righted and uninjured (News).

Classified ads. “Lost — A gold scarf-pin with an ice skate attached. The finder will be suitably rewarded.” “Found — A valuable thoroughbred dog. The loser can have him by proving property and paying for the ad.”

Episcopal picnic. The Episcopal Sunday School picnic will be at Bowers Mansion and sure to be a success. The weather is simply ideal for such an outing and grounds will be in special service. Take the local train and put in a day of pleasure.

All sorts. Sgt. Harold Wright is spending a furlough visiting at the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Wright.

Candy Dance. Mrs. Ruth Duryee has been named chairman of the Genoa Candy Dance to be held Oct. 2 and will include a buffet and free candy made by the women of Genoa.
