Arthur Silva

Arthur Silva, age 78, of Fallon, NV, formerly of Hawthorne, passed away on August 19, 2015. He was born in New Bedford, MA on October 26, 1936 to Manuel and Alexandria Sylvia. He was the youngest of five siblings: Mamie, Eileen, Frank and Natalie. Arthur served in the United States Air Force for 22 years. He retired in Hawthorne, NV and was employed by civil service at the Depot and later by Day Zimmermann and Basil Corp. He was a member of the following organizations: Elks Lodge #1704, Churchill Masonic Lodge #26, American Legion Post #19 and Veterans of Foreign War Post #2313. Preceding Arthur in death were his parents, siblings and grandson Sgt. Kenneth Bostic. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Carol of Fallon, daughter Patty Thyne of Hawthorne, sons Frank Silva (Sherrie) of Fallon and David Justen (Shannon) of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren Dwayne (Jamie) Bostic, Camryn Justen, Jaci West, Chris West, Monika Silva, Alec Silva and numerous great-grand children, nieces, nephews, great-neices and great-nephews. A private family service was held on August 28, 2015 at Hawthorne Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Veterans Guest House of Reno. 880 Locust St.
