Alumni notebook: How Carson City area athletes are doing in college

FOOTBALL

Colby Brown (Carson-College of Idaho): Had seven carries for 12 yards last week.

Dylan Sawyers (Carson-Feather River): Had 1 rush for 0 yards and four catches for 38 yards. He also had three tackles in 62-13 loss to Butte.

Nevin Elliott (Carson-College of San Mateo): Lost 17-14 to Santa Rosa. No stats reported.

Logan Krupp (Carson-Western Oregon): Beat Central Washington 31-25. Didn’t see action, according to school website.

Josh Joyner (Dayton-Western Oregon): Beat Central Washington 31-25. Saw action, but posted no stats.

Andrew Gutierrez (Carson-Feather River): One tackle and one fumble recovery in 62-13 loss to Butte.

Julio Meza (Dayton-George Fox): Didn’t see action last week against Puget Sound.

Joey Thurman (Carson-Yuba College): Returned 2 punts for 9 yards in loss to Contra Costa.

Jonathan Joyner (Dayton-George Fox): Didn’t see action last week against Puget Sound.

Skyler Berntson (Dayton-Southwest Baptist): Team lost to William Jewell. Didn’t see any action.

SOCCER

Michelle Sandage (Carson-William Jessup): Team went 1-1 last week. Played one game and had one shot on goal.

Kenzie Tillitt (Carson, Colorado): Didn’t see action in 2-1 loss to Stanford.

Bailie Zuber (Carson-Peninsula College): Team went 2-0. Played, but had no goals or assists.

Brenda Torres (Carson-Peninsula College): Had one assist in two wins last week.

Josilyn Daggs (Carson-University of Idaho): Played the entire game in 4-1 win over N. Arizona but didn’t post any stats.

CROSS COUNTRY

Becky Grabow (Sierra Lutheran-UOP): Finished 74th at Bronco Invitational, running a 21:54.5 for the 6k race.

Nathaneal Williams (Sierra Lutheran-Colorado Mines): No meet last week. VOLLEYBALL

Cheyanne Strong (Dayton-Umpqua College): Had 13 kills and 3 digs in loss to Chemeketa.

Madison Foley (Dayton-Nevada): Pack split last week. Had 26 kills and 17 digs.

Taryn Schriner (Dayton-W. New Mexico University): Had 5 kills, 2 blocks and a dig in two losses last week.

Danielle Good (Carson-Cabrillo College): Saw no action in three losses last week.
