Carson City’s Vivian & Norton Pickett celebrating 67th anniversary

Vivian and Norton Pickett, 33-year residents of Carson City, are celebrating their 67th year of marriage.

Carson City residents Vivian J. and Norton J. Pickett, married on Dec. 31, 1948, are celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary on Dec. 31.

Norton is a retired administrator at the Department of Industrial Relations — Division of Mines. Vivian is a retired clerk.

The couple has two children, Ronald Pickett of Carson City, and Gloria Jean Watson of Caldwell, Idaho, and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. The Picketts renewed their vows at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Winnemucca on July 25, 1955.

To celebrate their anniversary, the Picketts held a family reunion and entered the Winnemucca Classic Car Show, in which they won first place.
