Hundreds of classic cars will cruise C Street in Virginia City as the mining town plays host to the region’s largest classic car show, Hot August Nights, serving as the official kickoff location today and Saturday.
The two-day kickoff rally takes place from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily and includes the Celebrity Show-n-Shine, nightly cruises along C Street, a poker walk, free nightly entertainment and vendor booths with memorabilia and merchandise.
On Friday, the Shown-n-Shine on C Street will be from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The Daily Poker Walk, which includes 10 stops, will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Delta parking lot on C Street will host live entertainment from 3 to 7 p.m. The Nightly Cruise on C Street will be from 7 to 9 p.m.
Saturday’s events are as follows — the Show-n-Shine on C Street from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.; the Daily Poker Walk from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and live entertainment from 3 to 7 p.m. in the Delta parking lot. Awards for the Celebrity Show-N-Shine and Poker Walk will be at 6 p.m., with the Nightly Cruise from 7 to 9 p.m. on C Street.
