Elwood Russell Snyder, Jr.

Sep. 20, 1926 - Dec. 18, 2014

Elwood Russell Snyder Jr., a long-time resident of Gardnerville, has passed away joining his best friend, wife of 67 years, Florence. Russ proudly served his country as a Marine in WWII where he received both the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.

A retired Harrah’s Casino Manager, avid sports fan, he enjoyed gardening, watching the birds, golfing, and playing penny poker machines. But what he loved most of all was his wife Flo.

Russ is survived by his daughters Janie, Patti, and Robin, grandchildren Cinnamin, Carey, Cassie, and Frankie, great grandchildren Gianni and Myriah, sisters Georgianne and Margaret, and his brother Nelson. His death was preceded by his wife, Florence, daughter Ann Marie, mother Nina May, father Elwood R. Snyder Sr., and his sisters Nina, and Barbara.

A celebration of life for Russ and Flo Snyder is planned for July 18th at Morro Bay, CA. The spreading of their ashes will be on July 20th, which would have been their 69th wedding anniversary.
