Alumni notebook: How Carson City athletes are doing in college

BASKETBALL

Rafe King, Carson, Columbia College: Has appeared in 22 games and is averaging 12 points, 1.1 assists and 2.7 rebounds per game.

Matt Nolan, Carson, Cabrillo College: Has appeared in 22 games with a 2.5 points per game average and 0.7 assists per game.

Haley Ridgely, Carson, Hollins University: In 11 games, she’s averaging 1.3 points and 1.2 rebounds a contest.

Savannah Smith, Carson, Sierra College: In 24 games, she’s averaging 3 points, 1.1 assists and 1.4 rebounds.

BASEBALL

Jace Zampirro, Carson, Feather River: Last week, he appeared in one game, allowing two runs and three hits in 2 innings of work and has a 4.50 ERA.

Adam Whitt, Carson, UNR: Season hasn’t started yet.

Luke Maher, Carson, Colorado Northwestern: No stats posted on Scenic West website yet.

Brock Pradere, Carson, Ohlone College: Has moved from 3B to outfield, and went 2-for-5 with two RBI last week in opener.

Rory Petersen, William Jessup: In 6 games, Petersen is off to a 10-for-26 start with a homer and four RBI.

Charlie Banfield, Carson, Yuba College: He’s made 8 pitching appearances including 2 starts. He’s 0-1 with a 12.19 ERA.

Jake Koch, Dayton, E. Nazarene: Season hasn’t started yet.

Conner Oliver, Dayton, Minot State: Season hasn’t started yet.

Nick Selmi, Dayton, Mendocino College: In 2 games, he’s pitched 5 innings and allowed 11 hits and seven earned runs for a 12.60 ERA.

Nick Domitrovich, Carson, Lassen College: Is 3-for-8 after the first weekend of play.

Chance Quilling, Carson, Sierra College: Starting in right field, Quilling went 2-for-7 last week for a .286 average.

SOFTBALL

Christa McGahuey, Carson, University of Detroit-Mercy: Season starts this week.

Danielle Morrow, Carson, Doane College: Season starts this week.

Natalie Morrow, Carson, Union University: Season starts this week.

Kenzie Cole, Dayton, Montana: Cole transferred from Boise State last spring.

Lisa Yamamoto, Carson, Linfield College: Season starts this week.

Jen Purcell, Carson, UNR: Earned starting job at first base and season starts Friday at Arizona State Tournament.
