Stanley Jay Lee

May 30, 1925 - April 26, 2014

Stanley Jay Lee passed away April 26, 2014, in Carson City, Nevada. Stanley was born May 30, 1925, in Pasadena California to Charles Francis and Leo White Lee. He spent his early years on the family ranch in Wilson Creek, Nevada. Later his father moved the family to Hilo, Hawaii where he attended school. He was sent to the Naval Air Station at Pearl Harbor during WWII by the U.S.Navy to repair bombers for the many aircraft carriers. When WWII ended he returned home to Hilo. He met his wife, Jean Paste, when his mother brought her home for dinner. His mother was a Librarian at Hilo Library and Jean was the “new” Librarian. He was a supervisor for Hilo Sugar Plantation for many years. Stanley moved his family to the San Francisco Bay Area where he worked as an airplane mechanic and later in the auto shop for Pan American Airlines. He commuted from his home in Carson City for 10 years until his retirement in 1980. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Jean Paste Lee (50 years), second wife, Lora (14 years), sister, Lois Lee Kilcauley, brother-in-law, Lt. Col. Elmer W. Kilcauley, and step-son-in-law, Arthur Roll. He is survived by his children Loyd Lee (Sherrie), Anne Oakes (Don), Alice Schleicher (Carter), and Helen Thulin, (Tim), 3 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, nieces, Karen Thomas (John) and Linda Dellaire (Roger), step-daughters Lora Ann Roll, Lynda Plymate (Tom), Nancy Fore (Jim), Mary Kalkwarf and numerous extended family. He will be dearly missed by his children and his many friends. As per Stanley’s request no services will be held. He volunteered many hours of service to the Senior Center in Carson City.
