Blue Jays hitters,pitchers come alive

The Carson Blue Jays scored 10 runs in the first inning en route to a 12-0 win over Douglas in the first game of a split doubleheader at Ron McNutt Field Wednesday night.

In the second game, the Blue Jays used two four-run innings to knock off Valley View-Idaho, 8-3.

John Holton tossed all five innings against Douglas, allowing just two hits and striking out six. He didn’t walk a batter.

Cody Azevedo went 2-for-2 and drove in two runs, while Connor Pradere went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Terek Been went 1-for-3 with two RBI and Brandon Allen went 1-for-2 with two RBI.

Joe Nelson struck out five and scattered seven hits in the win over Valley View.

Allen and Bryce Moyle each went 3-for-3, and one of Moyle’s hits plated a run. Azevedo went 2-for-2 and drove in a run, while Holton had a hit and two RBI.
