Delores Beverly Mussi

June 9, 1929 - June 1, 2014

Delores Beverly Mussi, longtime Fallon resident, passed away on June 1, 2014, at home with her family by her side after a long bout with Cancer. Delores was born on June 9, 1929, in Sparks, Nevada, to Victor and Angelina Cassinelli. She attended school in Sparks and graduated from high school in Oakland, California. After business college she worked as the credit manager for the Rucker Company in the Bay Area. On June 6, 1964, she married Albert Mussi and left the corporate world to become a ranch wife in Fallon, Nevada. She dedicated the rest of her life to the ranch, raising a family, and public service. Delores was a devoted wife and mother who took great pride in her home and family. She also served sixteen years on the Churchill County School Board and three years on the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association Board of Control. She always said the student was her top priority first, last, and always. She was well known for her strong personality and standing her ground. Delores was involved with many groups and was a past president of the Nevada State School Board Association, Churchill County PTA, and Churchill County Cowbelles.In her later years, she took great joy in the accomplishments of her grandchildren, Angela and Daniel. Delores is survived by her husband of 5o years, Albert; her children, Steve and Linda (Paul); grandchildren, Angela and Daniel; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Aileen. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 8, 2014, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 850 W. 4th Street, in Fallon. Visitation will be held at the church on Sunday evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday, June 9, 2014, at 10:30 a.m. at the church, with burial in the family plot at the Churchill County Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Delores’ name to St.Patrick’s Catholic Church, 850 W. 4th Street, Fallon, Nevada, 89406 or to the American Cancer Society by calling 1-800-227-2345.
