Off-road activity a major contributor to flood damage

There was a major contributing factor to the recent flood damage in the Johnson Lane area that officials are not talking about and newspapers are not publishing. There is a website that shows photos and video of the flood and the aftermath that serves as evidence that much of the damage occurred as a result of off-road vehicle activity on Hot Springs Mountain. Off-roaders crated a web of trail on this mountain right above the neighborhood. The soil in these trails has been pulverized to a pulp. When the storm hit, these trails intercepted the natural mountain drainage and concentrated all the water into the trails. The trails drained into each other and eventually came down in form of two major rivers that brought all the pulverized soil into the neighborhood below. Maybe eternal reason for lengthy execution

We know that the law is good, if a man uses it lawfully,“ knowing this, that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane, for murders of fathers and murders of mothers, for manslayers, for whoremongers, for those who defile themselves with mankind, for menstealers. for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,” that sums it up, we’re all guilty of death, God’s words say if we hate some one, we’re murders at heart, think about this, columnist, critics alike, Roman 3:23, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God,” Joseph’s fate will one day be yours except you repent, maybe God had mercy on Joseph, and saved him before he died, maybe that’s why it took so long for him to die. Can you say he didn’t? So the real question should be, where will you spend all eternity? The choice is still yours, while in this life.

Wrong people being fired

So, last year the city got sued and the Carson City Animal Services manager got fired. Last month the Carson City Animal Services got a $194,000 donation and the shelter manager got fired. The city is firing when shelter makes a mistake and when the shelter does a good job. I think the wrong people are being fired and it’s not those who are actually working at the shelter everyday.

Old Catholic church needs TLC

Every time I drive past the used-to-be Catholic church on King Street my blood boils. Before the Brewery Arts Center took over this building, it was immaculate. The lawns were lush and green. All that was necessary to keep it that way was to water it. Instead, they chose to starve it of water and maintenance. The landscaping turned to dirt and weeds. The exterior of the building is peeling and cracking from lack of paint and upkeep. This beautiful historical structure was home to thousands of memories; weddings, baptisms, communion, religious holidays, mass celebrations and so much more. It’s a sacrilege the way it’s been abused and neglected. I encourage the city supervisors and mayor to refuse to give another penny of taxpayers dollars to the BAC unless and until it at least landscapes and paints the exterior. It used to be one of the most beautiful churches in the area. Now, it’s just a pitiful symbol of an I-don’t-care attitude. Now, BAC wants more money to do other things. I hope the answer will be no, not until it takes care of what it has now.
