High school hoop stars take court Wednesday

Carson High basketball coaches Nate Tolbert and Carlos Mendeguia will get a chance to coach some of the best players in Northern Nevada on Wednesday.

Tolbert will coach the girls blue team and Mendeguia will coach the boys High Sierra team during the 2013 Local Sports Program All Star games.

The girls game will kickoff the night at 6 p.m. with the boys game to follow.

The games will take place at Carson High. Tickets are $5 at the door for adults, $3 for students.

Members of Tolbert’s team are Diana Regalado and Desiree Cage from Douglas, and Elena Thurman and Maddie Saarem from Carson High among others. Virginia City’s Kena Fielding will be on the girls White Team.

Among those on Mendeguia’s team are Carson’s Chris Lopez, Matt Nolan, Rafe King, and Douglas’ Joe Syammach, Michael Nolting and Hunter Meyers.
