Food drive is set to begin Monday at Grocery Outlet

Carson City Grocery Outlet’s third annual Independence from Hunger food drive begins Monday.

In July, customers can donate food and cash to support Friends in Service Helping.

Customers can help by:

• Looking for marked food items that F.I.S.H. has designated as being in need. Customers can buy the items and put them in the collection bin at the front of the store.

• Telling a cashier they would like to make a cash donation at the register.

• Picking up information at the store about hunger, food insecurity and local/national resources for people in need.

Over the past two years, more than $500,000 has been raised in cash, gift cards and food donations company-wide.
