Carson City

The following people were booked into the Carson City Jail. All suspects are innocent unless proved guilty in court:

MONDAY

• 12:37 p.m.: A 29-year-old Carson City woman was charged with petit larceny and violating her probation conditions after allegedly attempting to return items at the Walmart service counter that she had just picked up off the shelf without actually buying. A background check revealed she was also on probation at the time. She was jailed on a no-bail hold because of the probation violation.

• 4:05 p.m.: A Reno 22-year-old was jailed on a warrant charging probation violations after being transferred from the Washoe County Detention center. Bail was set at $3,000.

TUESDAY

• 1:26 a.m.: Amalio Pedro Montanes, 25, was charged with preventing a victim from reporting a crime after his girlfriend called dispatch and managed to give an address before the call was disconnected. The victim told deputies she wanted him to leave because he had been drinking but he said he didn’t want to leave the Pontius Place residence and drive while under the influence. She told deputies she tried to call 911 but that he took the phone from her and disconnected it, then grabbed her by the throat and pushed her down. He was charged with preventing a victim from reporting a crime and domestic battery. Bail was set at $8,000.
