Joyce Lohr, 83, passed away June 30, 2013 in Susanville, CA with family at her side. Joyce was born February 16, 1930 in Kansas. She moved to Nevada with her husband and two children in 1969 to pursue her dream of owning a ranch. Joyce lived her retirement days at her ranch with her many horses, cats and dogs, who she loved dearly. She was moved to Susanville approximately five years ago after suffering a stroke.
Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur R Lohr and her sister, Virginia Redmond. Joyce is survived by her brother, Glenn Knowles; her three children, Karen Sims, Tater (Tina) Lohr, Lynette (Brad) Dix; grandchildren, Connie Sims, Tanesha and Tiana Lohr, Matt (Demi) Quist, Brandon and Garrett Smith, and great-grandson Noah Sims.
Graveside services were held at the Fallon Cemetery, 500 Rio Vista Dr at 10 a.m. Tuesday July 9, 2013. Arrangements are with Smith Family Funeral Home in Fallon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to Churchill Animal Protection Society.
