Obituary: Beulah Fowler Testolin

March 6, 1924 - July 4, 2013

Beulah Fowler Testolin, 89, completed her gifts of hospitality and service to others on this earth, passing peacefully, surrounded by family on July 4, 2013. Beulah was born March 6, 1924 in Elida, New Mexico, the first child of Alvin Fowler and Mae Miller Fowler.

Beulah’s family moved to the Fallon area in 1938 to begin a new life. At an ice skating party in 1941, Beulah met a young man named Tony Testolin who captured her heart. They were married July 1, 1943 and began their life as partners in farming on the Testolin Homestead in Fallon, later in ranching in Reese River, near Austin. Their years were spent working side by side, sharing each other’s lead with Beulah’s strong faith strengthening her always. In 1991, Tony and Beulah retired back to the Fallon Homestead.

Beulah shared God’s love through her warmth, her smile, the hospitality in her home, and the thoughtful kind deeds she did for others. She especially enjoyed time spent visiting with and cooking for family and friends, gardening, enjoying the outdoors, fishing, attending church and doing for others.

Beulah was preceded in death by Tony, her husband of 57 years; her parents and sister, Alma Singleton. Beulah is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Irene and Dave Merritt, Rachel and Gary Wright; sisters, Yvette Carey, Thedal and Fred Roper; brothers, Harris and Colleen Fowler, Harold and Lynn Berry Fowler; grandchildren, Eric and Holly Merritt, Gina and Ryan Ellis, Joe and Porsche Lee Wright; 12 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.

The loving and caring ways Beulah shared with everyone came back to her through many people. Most recently were Delvan and Kathi Lee; Dianna Merritt-Bagwell; Suzette Hughes; Catherine Warkentine; Barbara Hillier; DaNille Guazzini and Maria Cumbie.

Maine St., Fallon, NV 89406, or to the Testolin Family Scholarship Fund, Western Nevada Community College, 2201 West College Parkway, Carson City, NV 89703, or the Fallon Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 355 Esmeralda St., Fallon, NV 89406 or to the charity of your choice.

A Celebration of Beulah’s Life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2013 at 11 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at The Gardens Chapel.

Interment will follow service at the Churchill County Cemetery. A potluck gathering will follow burial. Arrangements are under the direction of The Gardens Funeral Home, 2949 Austin Highway, Fallon, NV 89406.
