Obituary: Virginia May Waring

Virginia May Waring passed away peacefully in her home, in Carson City. She was born in Brooklyn, NY and attended school in Hempstead, Long Island. She was always a sports enthusiast and was voted "most athletic girl" in her high school. She was a beautiful swimmer and an avid field hockey player.

In 1950 she married Donald Waring and they remained a love match until his death in 2004. They enjoyed the outdoors and learned to downhill ski in their 50s! Jean will be remembered for her generosity, sense of humor, and no nonsense attitude toward life. She was fiercely devoted to her family and encouraged all members to live their lives fully. She was a loving sister to her remaining siblings, Lewis Francis Kelly, and Patricia Kelly Michals. She is also survived by the Starr and Williams families of Castle Rock, Co. and nieces and nephews.

A "Celebration of Life" dinner was held in her honor on Feb. 13, 2013.
