Sandoval names Martin new legal counsel

Gov. Brian Sandoval has named Michon Martin his new general counsel.

She will assume her new duties April 29, replacing Lucas Foletta, who resigned.

Martin is the chief deputy attorney general handling tobacco litigation and enforcement. She also has represented the departments of Public Safety, Motor Vehicles and Corrections.

Before coming to Nevada, she was an assistant district attorney in San Francisco from 1998-2008.

Martin is a graduate of Carson High School and earned her law degree at the University of San Francisco.
