Tulsa ends Reno's

3-game win streak

TULSA, Okla. - The Reno Bighorns were held to a season-low 79 points as the Tulsa 66ers ended the Bighorns' three-game road winning streak Thursday night, 85-79.

Andre Emmett led the Bighorns with 16 points and eight rebounds while Mo Charlo once again posted a double-double with 14 points and 14 rebounds. The Bighorns went an impressive 3-1 on their road trip.

Jerome Dyson led the 66ers with 31 points, supplemented by Ryan Reid's 10 points and 14 rebounds.


CHS football boosters meet Monday night

The Carson High Football Booster Club will be hosting its monthly board meeting on Monday, Feb. 6th at Q's BBQ located at 230 Fairview Dr. at 6:30 p.m.

Potential new members are encouraged to attend the meeting.


WNC softball wins

two in Arizona

YUMA, Ariz. - Western Nevada College won two games on Thursday, knocking off Arizona Western 11-6 and Mesa College 8-4.

In the opener, WNC led 7-0 through five innings. Arizona Western scored all six of its runs in the last two innings.

Taleas Marble went 4-for-4 for WNC, while Ashley Gleason and Alia Cox each collected three hits. Jenny Quam garnered two hits.

In the second game, WNC collected only four hits, but used nine walks and faulty fielding by Mesa to win.

Ali-Marie Lostra picked up the win in the circle.

Marble and Lostra hit safely in the victory.

WNC plays three games today at 9, 1 and 3 p.m.

The road trip ends with two games on Saturday.


Carson bowlers

dominate Galena

Carson knocked off Galena 42-3 in a 4A bowling match on Thursday.

Joey Bowers led the way with a 730 series, including a 258 game. Steven Costa finished with a 660, including a final-game 265. Kyle Lethcoe was next with a 632 followed by Jacob Zumbro with a 617.

Heather Floyd rolled a 521 series, while Brianna Mathiesen shot a 470 to top Carson's female bowlers.
