Carson football boosters seeking members

The Carson High Football Boosters are now accepting booster membership applications for the 2012 season.

Booster membership has various levels starting at $25 and going up to $225. Various Levels include - Senator decal, season tickets for regular-season home games only, football program and a jacket.

Tahoe-Whittell golf

fundraiser slated

The 25th annual Boosters Club Golf Tournament is scheduled for May 5 and 6 at Edgewood Golf Club.

Entry fee is $125, which includes 18 holes of golf, golf cart and lunch. If somebody wants to play both days the cost is $225. The tournament is a scramble format and trophies are awarded to the top three teams each day.

Registration and raffle ticket sales begin at 9:30 a.m. each day.

Aces recorded at Empire,

Eagle Valley courses

Mike Bratzler and Bill Downie recorded holes-in-ones recently.

Bratzler's ace, which was witnessed by Rich Dixon, Mark Stattler, Hi Jeppson and Bill Young, was his first. It came on the 13th hole on the West course. He used an 8-iron.

Downie's ace came at Empire Ranch and was witnessed by Thomas J. Ray. The shot came on the Comstock course on the 155-yard third hole.


Serafine, Pemberton win

at Carson Valley

Charles Serafine and Bob Pemberton emerged victorious in recent Carson Valley Golf Club tournaments.

On April 7, Searfine won the A flight with a net 69, two shots better than Daryle Lewis and James Howard. Augie Martinez and John Dorman tied for the B flight title with 69s. Bruce Sanford won the C flight with a 66, four shots ahead of Anthony Moore. Jack Zippwald won the D flight with a 66, three strokes better than John Carey.

On April 1, Pemberton won th A flight with a 65, three shots better than Dennis Patterson. Gerry Bing won the B flight with a 67, two strokes better than Bill Allen.


Swann wins low

net at Empire

Geoff Swann recorded a 66 to beat Nick Paul by two shots to win the A flight at the Empire Ranch Senior Men's Club tournament on April 4.

John Sullivan won the B flight with a 64, two shots better than Henry Ortiz. Marchal McCurdy won the C flight with a 69, two shots better than Marty Martinez.


DeYoung rolls 822

at Gold Dust West

Allen DeYoung bowled a season-ending 822 series at Gold Dust West in the men's Senior Trio League.

DeYoung rolled games of 266, 267 and 289.


Softball fundraiser for

Gardnerville team

The Red Storm fastpitch girls' softball team is raising funds in an attempt

to attend the Jim Thorpe Native American Games in Oklahoma City in June.

Red Storm is based in Gardnerville and is comprised of local student-athletes

from around Northern Nevada with players representing the Washoe,

Paiute, Shoshone and Mandan/Hidasta tribes.

The Native American Games consist of nine sports with athletes from across

United States and Canada. The event runs from June 10-17.

The Dresslerville Athletic Club is seeking donations, which can be made

through Wells Fargo Account No. 7655733397.
