We learn that Sam P. Davis, whose fertile mind and facile pen are seldom idle, has finished an original 3-act play, "a corker," in Sam's own words. The humor of the play, set with Nevada characters in the Comstock and San Francisco, comprise some three or four suicides, a fire in a mine and a half dozen made-to-order murders. Several east coast managers are endeavoring to make the play a go.

100 YEARS AGO

In the first ruling ever made of its kind in Nevada, District Court Judge Somers sustained a mining location over a federal township title whose valid location has been proved in a Goldfield case.

Lt. Gen. Johnathan Wainright's wife broadcast over public radio to her husband that their son is training to be an officer in the merchant marine. The general's dog Seal is also on the air to encourage the embattled General at Bataan.
