Out & About: Get ready for St. Paddy's and spring events are comin'

The 14th Annual St. Patrick's Day Dinner and Fundraiser is almost here. This event is for the entire family. Enjoy a traditional St. Paddy's dinner with all the trimmings. Anytime I think of St. Paddy's Day, I can't not think about the Leahy family - so Happy St. Paddy's to some true blue, O.K. green Irish folk.

Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch - GPS Treasure Hunt

I could have used this presentation last Sunday as I decided to wander off trail - not the smartest idea. The Friends of Silver Saddle Ranch will hold a techno Global Positioning System (GPS) basic training event, "Where are you at?". For fun participants will search for some geocaches at the ranch. If you don't have a GPS device you can team up with someone who does and discover what this treasure hunt is all about.

Senior Follies 'Let's Go To the Movies'

The Carson City Senior Citizens Center Senior Follies event brings out some amazing talent. If you are older than 50 and love to sing, dance or act, come on out and shine for the auditions for this year's production.

Gone Fishin' III, Tom Brooks Memorial

If you have ever been to the Timbers Saloon in Carson you know that if this group is hosting anything, it is going to be fun: fishing derby, barbecue, prizes and more. I have caught a few big mackinaw out of Tahoe, so I am sure this tourney will be competitive. If you would like to sponsor the event, help out or just check out the Timbers, head on in. WHEN: Saturday, April 2

5 p.m. weigh-in for fish caught that day from Tahoe. Cleaning stations available.

WHERE: Lake Tahoe

COST: Non-refundable entry fee $80 per team, which includes a hat and shirt. Door prize raffle tickets $1 each or six for $5. If you catch the largest fish it wins you $100.
