A former Stateline resident is scheduled to appear for arraignment this morning in Douglas County District Court in connection with an incident last fall in which he rammed an undercover police car during a drug sting. Jamaal Mansoor Eslami, 27, was brought back to Douglas County in May.
A 23-year-old Carson City man, once accused of supplying a near fatal dose of heroin to a teenage boy, pleaded guilty on Aug. 9 to possession of a controlled substance. Randy Scott Isaacs is requesting District Judge Michael Gibbons sentence him to a drug diversion program this morning so he can continue without interruption the recovery he began in August 2007.
Today will be a model for most of the week, sunny with highs in the low 90s and light breezes in the afternoon. It will be Friday before we see any sort of weather, and that won't be much.
A Topaz Ranch Estates man in his 80s was found dead on Masonic not far from his home on Saturday. There's no word on cause of death, but officials released the body to the mortuary not long after their arrival.
