Lunchtime seminars offered

Tahoe Youth & Family Services offers the STEP Together series of free lunchtime seminars to empower parents beginning noon to 1 p.m. Sept. 15 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 1480 Douglas Ave., Gardnerville.

Douglas County Sheriff's Investigator Jeff Schemenauer speaks on what parents need to know about drugs. A bag lunch will be provided.

Upcoming seminars include:

Oct. 19. How to help your teen be successful in school with speaker Douglas High School Principal Marty Swisher.

Nov. 10. How to spot the danger signs with speaker Debbie Posnien, executive director of the Suicide Prevention Network

Dec. 2. Disciplining with love and logic for the young child with speaker Donna Einspahr, director of Trinity Lutheran Child Care Center.
