EDITOR:
This year's election includes some very important local races. There are three school board races on our ballots, people whose decisions will affect not only our own children but those of our friends, business associates and neighbors.
Given what we know about the state of our economy now and in the near future, it is crucial that we have people who understand how important it is to focus on classrooms and to ensure that the least damage is done to them by the inevitable budget cuts.
One candidate stands out in that regard. Tom Moore is my choice for another term on the school board. Throughout the last few years, Tom has provided a steady voice on the board. As an engineer, he knows facilities very well and has been a tremendous asset to our community as we've made some important decisions about buildings, including the newly approved facilities master plan for our district.
Please join me in voting for Tom Moore.
