Pet vaccination clinic June 5 at Walker Fire Station

Saturday, June 5, will be the annual vaccination clinic and licensing of dogs at the Walker fire station just off Hackney Drive, taking place from 8:30-11:30 a.m. Rabies vaccinations will be only $6, with other vaccinations also available. It is requested that you have your dog on a leash or leave him in the car if there is a chance he could be aggressive to people or other animals. Cats must be in a carrier. This is really a wonderful time and money saver for us all, so don't pass it up.

Memorial Day ceremony

The Post 3567 Veterans of Foreign Wars annual Memorial Day ceremony will take place at 9 a.m. Thursday at the Coleville Cemetery, Highway 395 and Cunningham Lane. This moving service will begin at 9 a.m. and will be something to remember for a long time.

The Antelope Valley Friends of the Library will welcome you Saturday, May 29, to the Walker Mini Mall. They will be selling donated books, delicious homemade baked goods and white elephant sale items, all to benefit our Coleville library. Also, artists from the community will be selling note cards of their art. Plan to stop by starting at 9:30 a.m.

ATV and UTV Jamboree

The ATV & UTV Jamboree, sponsored by the Northern Mono Chamber of Commerce, consisting of three days of guided trail riding through our beautiful area will take place June 16 through June 19.

For those of you who would like to participate, but don't have a vehicle, there are rentals available. Be sure to bring your camera and enjoy the scenery.

This and that

Saturday, May 29, will be a special day in our home. Mike and I will be celebrating our 40th anniversary. It doesn't seem possible that many years have gone by. I know those of you who have already passed that milestone will know what I mean. It has been a really good 40 years, and I can only hope for many more.

I don't know about the rest of you, but I am downright sick of cold weather and wind. What happened to spring? After all, we are just about to have Memorial Day. It's time for some nice weather, especially for the long weekend. Please enjoy your holiday this coming weekend, and remember what we are honoring with that holiday.
