Free fly-tying demonstration

The Anglers Edge is hosts a free fly-tying demonstration and tying session 9 a.m. March 27 at the shop's classroom. Bill Hammons, a local tier who has gained Federation of Fly Fisher's Teeny Tiny for his size 32 Adams pattern, speaks on the life cycle of a caddis, and demonstrates how to tie a caddis pupa, caddis emerger and the E.C. Caddis for use in Eastern Sierra waters.

Tiers should be good beginners to advanced. Bring your own equipment, materials provided. Donations for materials accepted. The class is limited to 10 seats. Call 782-4734 to reserve a seat.

Beginning fly-fishing course begins March 30

The Anglers Edge begins a new session of Fly-Fishing 101 at 6 p.m. March 30 at the shop's classroom. The six-week course covers two nights of casting, gear, knots, entomology, flies, matching the hatch, and reading water. Materials and gear provided for those who don't have rods. Class size is limited to eight, so sign up to be ready for California opener. Call 782-4734 to reserve a spot.
