Rock talk Tuesday

Nevada Rock Art Foundation hosts a free presentation about Nevada petroglyphs and pictographs and the foundation's work to protect them, 6-7 p.m. Tuesday, in the ArtBar at the Carson Valley Arts Council, 1572 Highway 395, Minden. Wine and snacks available at 5:30 p.m. Featured are Minden resident and archaeologist Dr. Angus Quinlan, who is executive director of the Nevada Rock Art Foundation; Dr. Pat Barker, president of Nevada Rock Art Foundation and former archaeologist for the Bureau of Land Management; and anthropologist Dr. Darla Garey-Sage. Station location lecture Thursday

State archivist Jeff Kintop speaks on "Where the Heck is Old Mormon Station?" at the Douglas County Historical Society's lecture of the month, 7 p.m. Thursday, at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center, 1477 Highway 395, Gardnerville. Bingo Knights for Biaggini

The Knights of Columbus bingo on March 12 is dedicated to the memory of Douglas County Sheriff's Capt. Mike Biaggini at St. Gall Catholic Church, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville. Rotary hosts St. Patrick's party

The Tahoe Douglas Rotary Club hosts the 42nd annual St. Patrick's Day Celebration, 6-10 p.m. March 13, at Harrah's Convention Center in Stateline, with an Irish buffet dinner of corned sirloin of beef, wine and microbrews, and dance music by JJ Entertainment. Ticket cost of $60 includes an entry in the grand prize drawing for a 7-night Hawaiian vacation.
