Kudos from food closet

Our thanks again to our community. Special thanks this month to the people from Curves on Mica Drive with an amazing donation of 2,081 pounds of food.

We are appreciative of each donation and want to acknowledge everyone.

Food donations received in January (in pounds) Russell's Mercantile (35), Douglas County Public Library and patrons (300), Christ Presbyterian Church (75), Sertoma Club (3), Curves (165), Cornerstone Christian Fellowship (133), WNC Nursing class (107), DAWG (103), RUAH Foundation (23), Target Stores (243), Dee Hildebrand (20), Carson Valley United Methodist Church (184), Pit Stop Deli (120), Douglas County Parks & Rec (115), and Gold Dust West (180).

We also thank those who prefer to remain anonymous, and Raley's, Smith's, Scolari's, Walmart, Starbucks of Minden and Gardnerville, Costco, Trader Joe's, Shell Country Store, Russell's Mercantile, and Variety Bakery.

Cash donations were received from Sierra Nevada Association of Realtors, Curves, Coventry Cross Episcopal Church, Oxoby Mobile Home Park, David and Joan McCullough, John and Diane Castiglione, David and Tina Tubridy, and customers and employees of Raley's, Smith's and Scolari's.

To donate nonperishable food, please call Eileen at 782-3711 to arrange a time or stop by the Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 1255 Waterloo, Gardnerville, noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Friday to drop off whatever you can to help.
