A memorial services is 1 p.m. Aug. 8 at the Gardnerville home of her daughter for Mildred D. Gardner, 95, who died July 15, 2010, in Gardnerville.
Born Dec. 11, 1914, in Powell, Wyo., to Walter and Effie Durand, she worked on the farm as a child.
She met and married husband Glenn A. Gardner in 1937.
Mrs. Gardner was a seamstress and would spend all day at her sewing machine. She also loved to read. The spirit of the wild west lived inside her with her love of horses and all things outdoors.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years.
She is survived by daughter Camille (Frank) Scharo; grandson Elliot Souza and great-granddaughter Monika Souza.
The address for the memorial service is 495 Centerville Lane. Interment will be in Mottsville Cemetery.
Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Gardnerville.
