300-400 people turn out for Blankets, Burgers & Brews

Main Street Gardnerville's first Blankets, Burgers & Brews fundraiser Saturday in Heritage Park was a success, so expect to see a repeat version sometime next year.

"It went very well for a first-time event," said Main Street Gardnerville Program Manager Paula Lochridge. "It was a learning experience. We had no idea what kind of turnout we'd have, but we estimate that about 300 to 400 people showed up.

"We're getting great feedback that will let us know what to include and take away for next year. We'll probably have more vendors and more activities for kids."

Reno-based band Seven Days Gone provided live country-rock music at the Blankets, Burgers & Brews event. Cafe Girasole cooked and sold burgers, hot dogs, and chicken, and Tahoe Creamery sold ice cream.

Event sponsors included GE Energy, Sharkey's Casino, Nagel Business Graphics, Big Daddy's Bike, Ski & Board Shop; Tahoe Ridge Winery, Marketplace & Bistro; K2 Pilates and Ken Miller.

Blankets, Burgers & Brews was a fundraiser for the Main Street Gardnerville community revitalization program. Information, mainstreetgardnerville.org or 782-8027.
