The Cow County Ball is 6-10 a.m. Aug. 28 at the Corley Ranch, 859 Highway 395,

Gardnerville. Dance music by Rick Hays and American Steel, chuck wagon grub by the Gourmet Cowboy, silent auction, raffle and hosted bar. Cost is $50 per person, $60 at door, $375 for table of 8 and kids under 15 eat free. Proceeds benefit Volunteer Attorneys for Rural Nevadans and the Domestic Violence Victim's Assistance Project. VARN is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. VARN and DVVAP provide free civil legal services to low-income people and victims of domestic violence living in rural Nevada.
