On behalf of the Carson Valley Trails Association, I thank the many businesses and individuals who supported our recent fourth annual Hike for Health fundraiser. The April 22 auction at the Genoa Town Hall and the month-long Trails Challenge from April 22 through May 23 brought in over $26,800 to support the construction of the 22-mile Genoa Foothill Trail System project. Funded by a Nevada Division of State Lands Question 1 grant, this project will provide a wonderful new trail system that will connect Carson Valley to the Tahoe Rim Trail.
